The FoundationThe Jaydie Lynn King Foundation, also known as TEAM JAYDIE has been established in honor of Jaydie herself. In 2005, Jaydie was diagnosed with a Brainstem Glioma tumor. Her life, and the lives of those around her would never be the same. During the course of her illness, Jaydie found many ways to cope with her disease. Helping others to be happy became her best medicine. She was always concerned about the welfare of others, even at her darkest hours. She would paint pottery, or draw pictures and give them away to those whom she came in contact with. She was greatly concerned about all the children that were at the cancer center with her. She would often worry about them and even buy special gifts to give away. She started Team Jaydie to raise money to help kids with cancer. She felt that she could make a differance in the lives of the children who must fight such a disease. In deed she has made a tremendous differance. Before her passing, Jaydie and friends had raised more than $70,000. That money has gone to great use at places like Phoenix Children's Hospital, and The Make A Wish Foundation. In Jaydie's honor, those who love her will continue to make a differance in the lives of sick children. We will continue to raise funds and awareness in support of these children who fight the ultimate battle. Where does Team Jaydie money go?Jaydie received her treatments at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Here, we have found, some of the most talented doctors, nurses, and assistants in the country. PCH continues to be dedicated to the research of cancer and tumor related diseases. They are partners with some of the most renowned medical and research facilities in the world. We have found them to be right on top of the latest protocol and treatment of these terrible diseases. Jaydie learned that treating and fighting cancers and tumors takes money. This is where TEAM JAYDIE can help. With the help of government grants, and corporate and private entities, continued and in depth research of these diseases can continue. One day, because of this research, a cure will be found that will save the lives of countless children all over the world. Beyond just medicine, Jaydie was the receipient of world class treatment. During her hospital stays and office visits, she was treated to many of the "comforts of home". These include; comfortable furniture, stuffed animals, television, video games, puzzles, books, and much much more. These items have been purchased by private individuals and given to the hospital. These types of comforts mean the world to a child who must spend the day, sometimes several days in the hospital receiving chemotherapy treatments. Jaydie was so impressed with the generostiy of those who have donated these items, that she had requested that we be involved at this level as well. To date, we have been able to make donations to Jaydie's favorite charities. These include Phoenix Children's Hospital, and the The Make A Wish Foundation. Since recieving her own wish, Jaydie made us promise to help as many children as possible realize their own wishes. Jaydie's wish was an opportunity for us to be together, as a family, on a fantastic vacation. This was precious time for us to spend together "escaping" the reality of a terrible sickness. We had a fabulous time, but realize that trips like this come at the expense of some very generous individuals and corporate institutions that share a commonality in that they are determined to bless the lives of these ill children and grant them their life's wishes. Because of her experience, the Jaydie Lynn King Foundation has determined to become a part of the The Make A Wish Foundation community and use TEAM JAYDIE funds to bless the lives of other ill children. Even though we, like thousands of other families, struggle with a terrible situation, we feel blessed beyond compare at the generousity that has been shown to us. We feel a literal obligation to do our part in returning some of that generosity, love, and compassion to others in similar situations. We hope that you share in our determination and commitment and will continue to support TEAM JAYDIE along the way. You can make donations by mail; TEAM JAYDIE, 13236 N. 7th St. Phoenix, Arizona 85022, or you can visit any Bank of America branch and deposit funds directly into the TEAM JAYDIE account, 004378982652. Thank you,
